Separation/Divorce Preparation Counselling

It takes a lot of time and a lot of pain to accept that the relationship you are in is beyond saving. Moving on from comfortable is the hardest thing in the world - who would want to?

The hardest part is the unknown of what could be outside of your comfort zone.

We take the time to go through the positive and negatives of staying and going, costs, times when you need lawyers, how to deal with an angry ex-partner, future relationships, kids, finances, what you need in place, how long different aspects will take, where you will need legal and financial help v's what you need to do on your own, and most importantly, how to take care of yourself through a long and emotional journey.

Preparation counselling works best over 3 sessions

Session 1. Where you are now, how you feel, what changes you would like in your life

Session 2. What you need to prepare if you want to move on from your current relationship

Session 3. What it looks like to stay in your current relationship - what you can do differently to feel more positive.

No one wants to pay out of pocket when they don't have to! There are some very simple privacy reasons too. In order to get a mental health plan, you have to see a GP. The mental health plan covers 10 sessions with a Psychologist. The psychologist needs to diagnose you and report back to Medicare in order for them to continue on the register and your health records. The same goes with private health insurance - if you are claiming for counselling services there are now records. Health insurers can then withhold payments if you have the wrong diagnosis. So that would mean your diagnosis, treatment plan and progress reports would be available on MyHealthRecord. This is a great article to read and consider https://jodiegale.com/why-counsellors-psychotherapists-and-their-clients-are-better-off-without-medicare/ I would prefer to keep my clients confidentiality for counselling, therapy, hypnotherapy and coaching and be able to provide the help that they need, not the help an organisation that knows them as a number thinks they should have.
